340B Drug Pricing Program

The growing costs of prescription pharmaceuticals and medical devices have adversely affected family planning providers' ability to provide consistent care to patients. The federal 340B drug pricing program makes it possible for Title X-funded health centers and other qualifying entities to purchase drugs at a discount, in order to serve more patients and provide more comprehensive services.

NFPRHA's Work

NFPRHA recognizes that providing access to a broad range of effective contraceptives and other medications helps ensure the continuity and quality of patient care in the family planning network and safety-net health care system at large. NFPRHA continues to work with the federal government and Congress to support the 340B drug pricing program and to develop solutions that assist providers in securing consistent, affordable supplies and reimbursement rates. NFPRHA also works in coalition with other safety-net organizations to oppose attempts to weaken the program and dispel misinformation spread by its opponents.
