Healthy People 2020
In December 2010, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released Healthy People 2020 , 10-year goals and objectives for health promotion and disease prevention.
Healthy People 2020 includes a variety of topic areas related to sexual health, such as: maternal, infant, and child health; sexually transmitted diseases; and adolescent health. Of particular interest to family planning providers is the topic area on family planning, the goal of which is to "improve pregnancy planning and spacing, and prevent unintended pregnancy."
