Current Legislation
The 112th and 113th Congresses have launched a number of attacks on women's health, particularly regarding abortion access and coverage. NFPRHA's fact sheets about these dangerous and extreme bills are below.
- NFPRHA Opposes H.R. 61, H.R. 217, and S. 135 -- April 2013 (PDF)
NFPRHA strongly opposes H.R. 61, H.R. 217, and S. 135, the "Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act." These bills, sponsored by anti-choice Representatives Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Diane Black (R-TN) and anti-choice Senator David Vitter (R-LA), seek to undercut the Title X family planning program -- the only dedicated source of federal funding for family planning care in the U.S.
- NFPRHA Opposes H.R. 3541 (PDF)
NFPRHA strongly opposes H.R. 3541, the “Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act” (PRENDA). This bill, sponsored by anti-choice Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ), would subject abortion providers to criminal penalties for providing abortion care to women of color.
