Where Are We Now: Medicaid Family Planning Expansions This session will explore the transitions Medicaid family planning programs are making due to the ACA, and provide the latest information on CMS' plans for Medicaid family planning waivers. Get the latest updates from your colleagues on expansions in their states, and discuss next steps to get or keep a Medicaid family planning expansion.
MAGI Workshop The transition to using modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) in eligibility determinations for Medicaid and for premium subsidies has left many scratching their heads. Whether you are helping patients enroll in coverage or just pointing them in the right direction, understanding how income and household size are calculated is essential for every family planning agency. This session will help break through the confusion by walking you through MAGI, using hypothetical and real-world examples.
Cost Containment: The Wave of Medicaid’s Future Today states are working to contain Medicaid costs in a number of ways, all of which could impact family planning providers and their patients. In this session, learn about some of the current efforts by states to contain Medicaid costs — from payment reforms like quality incentives and bundled payments, to waiver proposals such as healthful activity and increased premiums — and how they could impact family planning providers.
