Family Planning Patient Experience in the Marketplace
NFPRHA members were selected to participate in an effort to collect stories about family planning patient experiences with enrollment in marketplace coverage available under the Affordable Care Act.
Participating health centers recruited patients who were uninsured or covered only under a Medicaid family planning expansion program and were attempting to enroll in insurance coverage through the marketplace. The health center worked with each patient to complete a questionnaire both before after attempting to enroll.
Participating health centers received a grant from NFPRHA with some funds earmarked as compensation for patient participation and the remaining funds supported staff time and additional project expenses.
