NFPRHA Welcomes New US Health & Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra

WASHINGTON, DC - The following is a statement from Clare Coleman, President & CEO of the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA).

“NFPRHA welcomes the confirmation of Xavier Becerra as the next secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services. Secretary Becerra has a proven track record of championing increased access to family planning and sexual health care and strengthening Medicaid. We are confident that Becerra is prepared to protect Medicaid and rebuild the Title X network, giving patients and providers relief from Trump administration rules that undermine quality and equity in public health programs. NFPRHA congratulates Secretary Becerra on his historic confirmation and looks forward to working with him to make it right for Title X and ensure that more people will have access to high-quality family planning care from providers they trust.”
