NFPRHA Statement on Leaked Draft Majority Opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization

Washington, D.C. – The following is a statement by Clare Coleman, President & CEO of the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA), in response to the leaked draft majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization:

“If this is the final opinion, it will have a horrific impact on people’s lives, autonomy, and health, and be acutely felt by people with low incomes. The leaked draft majority opinion shows with devastating clarity a Supreme Court poised to do exactly what we have feared: eliminate the constitutional right to abortion that has been in place for nearly 50 years. It is important that we be clear in this moment, however, that abortion remains legal and care continues to be provided. Helping people in our communities understand their options and get the care they want and need remains of utmost importance. NFPRHA will continue to fight alongside its members and partners to protect access to safe and legal abortion care.”
