With less than 60 days until the unwinding of the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) begins, family planning and sexual health providers must consider how they can mitigate Medicaid coverage loss and sustain advances in access that telehealth flexibilities have allowed.
NFPRHA will host a webinar on Thursday, March 16, at 2:00 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. PT to review the history of the PHE, summarize the flexibilities and protections it afforded patients and providers, and explain what’s at stake when it ends, both in terms of Medicaid continuous coverage and telehealth reimbursement.

This webinar also will explore the proactive steps that providers can take in the coming months, specifically what they can do to minimize disruptions in patients' Medicaid coverage, determine which COVID-era Medicaid telehealth reimbursement policies are likely to change or remain in their respective states, and advocate for the end of outdated regulations and policies, if needed.
Allie Gardner, Senior Research Associate at the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy’s Center for Children and Families (CCF), will facilitate this webinar. In her role at CCF, Gardner focuses on Medicaid section 1115 demonstration projects and eligibility and enrollment policy, with a current emphasis on unwinding the COVID-19 continuous coverage protection.
