The health care refusal rule, slated to go into effect in November 2019, seeks to significantly expand the ability of health care providers to withhold treatment, counseling, or medical information based on their religious or moral beliefs—without any regard for the needs of patients. NFPRHA has joined more than 20 state attorneys general and Planned Parenthood Federation of America in suing to stop the rule from going into effect. Oral arguments in federal district court will be held October 18.
The October NFPRHA membership call will provide an update on NFPRHA’s litigation and an overview of this complicated rule. Note that this call is one week earlier than normal.
