NFPRHA Applauds Senator Murray for Standing up for Title X

The following is a statement from Clare Coleman, President & CEO of the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA):

“Senator Murray was poised to offer an amendment to the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (Labor-HHS) appropriations bill that would restore the Title X family planning program to the longstanding approach that has led to nearly 50 years of public health success.

“We are grateful for Senator Murray’s leadership in fighting to save Title X, defend its longstanding provider network, and protect the 4 million people across the country who rely on the program for high-quality family planning and sexual health care. The administration’s new regulation is having immediate devastating impact on the family planning safety net in communities across the country.

“NFPRHA calls upon the Senate Appropriations Committee to move forward and allow a vote on Senator Murray’s amendment. Poor and low-income people deserve access to the care they need from providers they trust.”
