Since the onset of the COVID-19 public health emergency in March, many family planning providers have moved to conducting some, or all, of their visits remotely, by telemedicine or telephonically. However, managing symptomatic genital tract infections can be challenging when it is not possible to perform an in-person physical exam or to obtain specimens for point-of-care or clinical laboratory tests.
Join NFPRHA’s special membership webinar to hear Drs. Ina Park and Michael Policar discuss remote diagnosis and treatment of genital tract infections.
This webinar will focus on adaptations that health systems can make for clinicians to diagnose and treat most genital tract infections remotely based on the concept of syndromic management, including sexually transmitted infections and vulvovaginal conditions. Situations that require in-person evaluation will also be discussed, including how to minimize the risk of exposing patients and staff to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the cause of COVID-19.
While this webinar is designed for clinical staff, other staff including counselors, educators, and administrators will also benefit from the information presented as well.
